Update!

I got a teaching assistantship at Penn State for the 2012-2013 school year, meaning I'm fully funded AND I get a stipend for living expenses!  What a relief.  I'm so excited that I can completely be involved in school and not have to split my time between Penn State and other work during the school year.

If you prayed for me or kept me in your thoughts, thank you so much.

  1. So what IS a teaching assistantship? Do you teach and also go to school? How much school do you do a semester vs. how much teaching? How long will your program take? This question is turning into a future blog post, I can feel it. :)

    1. It should be a future post, but I'll explain in a nutshell. I do instruction and service for 20 hours a week (office hours, etc.), and I go to school full time. I also take an additional class about how to teach college students. I'm most psyched about that last part. The program will probably take about 4 years, but maybe more or less.

    2. That's pretty awesome! Can you tell my real job that I should only work 20 hours a week while I do my stuff? :)

  2. Congrats!!! I'm do happy for you. You're very lucky to continue your education. Chris is nearly finished, so it would be cool if one day I could go back.

Also my sister said she met you the other day! She was confused at first and worried she came off weird to you:0 Haha!

    1. Thanks!

I was convinced that I came off weird to Petchie! I literally turned around in line for food and there she was. I felt like I had to at least say hello, but I think I totally took her off guard. It was such a funny meeting.
